LP “Shards”
With mixing and post-production by Italian indie-pop songstress and producer Matilde Davoli (Populous, Indian Wells, Giorgio Tuma and Lucia Manca) and Soul Island himself, “Shards” is the first full length LP by Soul Island and is described as “a collection of fragments of the artist's inner speech on what's intimate but also on what's outside, from subcultures to wider global topics”. The first single from the album, “Ocean”, was met with great acclaim and received support from tastemaker publications including CLASH and Discobelle.
Italy born and raised Daniele grew up widely immersed in the local DIY punk and hardcore scenes which subsequently led to him singing for Room 104, whose collaboration with local band Suburban Noise, titled “El sonido de la ciento y cuatro”, anticipated mainstream emo culture with its sound. After moving to Bologna to study, Daniele formed Thousands Millions with drummer Federico Vaglio and bass player Massimiliano Giannuzzi (with whom he also formed the duo Kulledge), merging his ‘90s music background with the rediscovery of power-pop acts from the ‘60s onwards. After Daniele moved London in 2010, he collaborated and toured with a number of projects and bands, including alt-indie band Echopark and folk group Girl With The Gun.
Inspired by an array of musical influences, from Caribou to Brian Eno, to underground and now dissolved acts of ‘70s and ‘80s such as Hüsker Dü or Fugazi, Soul Island’s particular sound could be comparable to a blend of electronica, chillwave, ambient-house and alt-pop, likened to MGMT, Everything Everything and other unique contemporary pop groups.
With “Night Shore”, Soul Island takes the listener on an enchanting journey of instrumental synth and rolling drum-beats. The track begins with bouncing synth rhythms that call to mind African marimbas, which then build and lead into crisp drum beats and pulsing synth melodies, all layering onto one another, building into cathartic hills of sound and mood. A synth solo pierces the waterfall of sound, taking the listener to the very end of the track with a plaintive and nostalgic melody.
On his brand new LP release, Soul Island comments, “‘Shards’ is a collection of personal chants and soundscapes about feelings protection and growth. Each one is a fragment of my story and inner speech on what's intimate but also on what's outside, from subcultures to global issues. All weaved with analog arps and beats, made using gear that I've accumulated over time.”

J’ai un peu écouter sur le net et j’aime assez.
@mitié
oui je n’ai pas trouvé de vidéo,c’est dommage
C’ est un peu répétitif à mon goût
C’est pour mettre le thème dans la tête.
