Last month saw a major first for Toulouse-Blagnac airport: more passengers were recorded for the month of July than for June, traditionally the busiest month of the year. This year, having welcomed 855,682 passengers (+19.7%), the airport has had a record-breaking July. This growth is again driven by international traffic (+32.9%), with over 485,000 passengers recorded. The low-cost sector now accounts for 40.4% of total traffic, an increase of 64.8% compared to last year.

PASSENGERS
Domestic traffic: 365,543 passengers (+6%).
Traffic with the capital is up (+1.8%), with significant growth for Paris-CDG (+7.2%) which compensates for a slight decrease for Paris-Orly (-0.6%). Regionally, the increase in traffic is stronger (+14.8%), with significant growth for Brest (+101.8%), Bastia (+31.1%), Lille (+22.5%), Nantes (+17.8%) and Lyon (+17.7%).
International traffic: 485,637 passengers (+32.9%).
Scheduled traffic for the Schengen area continues to experience strong growth (+46.9%). Madrid remains the leading international destination, with 30,531 passengers this month (+131.1%), followed by Brussels (28,512 passengers, +81.6%).
Lisbon shows substantial growth, with 21,941 passengers (+79.2%). Destinations in Greece and Italy continue to attract more traffic (+97.7% and +34.9% respectively). Outside of the Schengen area, there is an identical trend (+31.9%), including strong activity with Great Britain (+37.2%).
London-Heathrow and London-Gatwick are declining, while other more recently connected airports are on the rise, especially London-Stansted. Traffic for North Africa continues its growth (+17%), with particularly good results for Morocco (+38%) and Tunisia (+32.5%), which compensate for the decrease for Algeria (-2.3%).
Charter traffic is declining (-40.4%, 13,856 passengers), in the face of competition from low-cost companies.
FREIGHT AND POSTAL TRAFFIC
Freight and postal traffic increased by 3%, with 4,466 tonnes handled.
COMMERCIAL AIRCRAFT MOVEMENTS
The number of movements is on the rise (+15%), with 7,714 movements carried out. The average passenger load per flight is 119 passengers, higher than that of July 2016 (115 passengers per flight).
