Toulouse Blagnac Airport : single security checkpoint from Hall D

On Thursday 5 April*, passengers will discover the new circuit taking them through to the boarding lounge, with the opening of a single security checkpoint and a duty free area, both accessible from Hall D. Simpler and more attractive, this circuit gives a glimpse of what the airport will offer its passengers at the end of the year, when the work is finished.

SECURITY CHECKPOINT AND DUTY FREE AREA ARE OPERATIONAL

First opening of the new facilities

The first part of the work, which began in 2017, is complete. From 5 April, passengers will discover a new security checkpoint in Hall D, and an XXL duty free area that brings Toulouse airport into the big leagues.

Single security checkpoint: how does it works ?

With these changes, Hall D will be the hub for accessing the airport: the tram and public transport terminal on one side, opposite proximity parking areas P1-P2-P3, and on the other side remote parking areas P5-P6 connected by a free shuttle bus service that drops passengers right at Hall D.

What to do when you arrive at the terminal:

  1. Still need to check in or have hold luggage? Consult the display screens to find the check-in point for your airline. Once you have completed this formality, head to the new security checkpoint in Hall D, to get to the boarding lounge.
  2. Already checked in and don’t have hold luggage? Go directly to the new security checkpoint, then proceed through to the boarding lounge.

All security checks will now take place in this new security checkpoint (both zones in Halls B and D will no longer be operating). It has high-speed inspection points, with the latest security technology, and a specially designed circuit for families and people with reduced mobility. All of this gets you through security easier and more comfortably, while still maintaining optimum security levels

XXL duty free area

Once passengers are through security, they can consult the practical information displayed on the walls before the entrance to the duty free area.

This new duty free area is open to everyone, whether their flight is domestic, European (Schengen Area, VAT charged on product prices) or international (outside Schengen Area, no VAT). And, it has big ideas: expanded from 680 m² to 1,800 m², it will offer the alcohol, tobacco and perfume products traditionally found in airport duty free stores, but also a selection of the finest regional products. Operated by the Dufry brand, a benchmark in the airport world, this duty free area is a prelude to the upmarket services that will be offered to passengers at the end of the year.

“This first stage in the journey to boarding is illustrative of the full experience we intend to offer our passengers at the end of the year: a single route for all, with a more pleasant feel and with many services along the way,” explains Jean-Michel Vernhes, Chairman of the Board of Toulouse-Blagnac Airport. “We have an ever-growing international clientele, who want their time at the airport to be useful and enjoyable. To meet this demand, in 2018 we will be offering a far superior level of services than before. However, this going to take a little time, so we hope that our passengers will be patient and understanding about any inconvenience caused over the coming months. This is due to the scale of the task we have undertaken, to offer them an infrastructure that meets their expectations.”

A single, simplified circuit, and a duty free area featuring varied and attractive products: the work continues, and the airport’s flagship project is moving forward.
