SITAONAIR AIRCOM® FlightTracker

AIRCOM® FlightTracker has been deployed across Jeju Air’s fleet of 29 B737s. SITAONAIR’s market-leading solution meets the airline flight-tracking challenge by gathering data from multiple global sources, filling in any gaps between terrestrial tracking sources to help improve flight operations.

AIRCOM® FlightTracker is unique in that it can deliver this service using equipment already present on most aircraft – without the need for modifications or additional avionics – making it the industry’s cost effective, swift-to-deploy, flight-tracking solution.

The Jeju Air and SITAONAIR AIRCOM solutions agreement will also see the airline’s fleet upgraded with SITAONAIR’s FlightMessenger, which ensures seamless, intelligent cockpit communications. FlightMessenger achieves this by integrating and translating cockpit data into a format feeding directly into airlines’ pre-existing IT infrastructure, improving data communication efficiency and effectiveness.

Kim Sanghoon, Director of Operations Control Center at Jeju Air, said: “Jeju Air selected SITAONAIR’s AIRCOM® FlightTracker and FlightMessenger after extensively evaluating the full range of products on the market. SITAONAIR’s solutions appealed to us for their rich functionality, seamless integration with our airline systems, their user-friendliness, and top quality customer support.”

Katrina Korzenowski, Vice President Asia-Pacific at SITAONAIR, said: “Today’s airlines face a number of practical challenges in tracking their aircraft, which we at SITAONAIR have made our mission to empower them to overcome. A wide variety of technologies exist to track aircraft, but these technologies have not been consistently integrated.

“Our AIRCOM® FlightTracker arms airlines with the powerful flight-tracking capabilities they need to actively enhance their flight operations and meet the ICAO’s forthcoming 15- and one-minute tracking best-practice requirements. By pulling together and integrating a wealth of aircraft position sources, including ACARS, ADS-B, radar and ATC Datalink, our AIRCOM® FlightTracker offers 100% global, real-time coverage to all airlines – without the need for costly modifications.”

In bringing together the best available inflight position data from multiple sources in one application, SITAONAIR’s AIRCOM® FlightTracker empowers airline cockpit crews and operations teams to maintain more accurate aircraft awareness. The knowledge that bridges any ANSP tracking gaps may include problematic weather and expected en-route turbulence information, helping to improve flight operations and support timely pilot decision-making.

AIRCOM® FlightTracker also enables automated reporting in both normal and abnormal operations, and can also be configured to help airlines meet the ICAO’s one-minute distress tracking standard – four years before its introduction.
