Toulouse Blagnac Airport: passenger traffic increased by +8.6% in January

Traffic at the Toulouse Blagnac Airport increased by 8.6% in January (679,150 passengers). International traffic is experiencing strong growth (+16.5%), meanwhile domestic traffic increased 2.7%.

Domestic traffic: 373,857 passengers (+2.7%).

Traffic with Paris is practically stable (-0.3%), with no change for Paris-Orly (-3.5%) but a slight decrease for Paris-CDG (-1.2%). Regionally, traffic continues to increase (+11%), with major gains for Nantes (+30.9%), Strasbourg (+26.6%) and Lille (+23%).


International traffic: 301,655 passengers (+16.5%).

In the Schengen area, the increase in scheduled traffic remains strong (+19%). The change in offering compared to the Autumn-Winter 2016 programme generated significant traffic increases for Lisbon, Venice and Seville. Historically popular destinations continued to do well, as evidenced by Geneva (+36.9%), Frankfurt (+30.8%), Madrid (+11.8%) and Munich (+6%).

Outside the Schengen area (+14%), traffic to London is leading the way, and is currently spread across four airports. This month, London-Stansted was the busiest airport, recording 16,804 passengers (+109%). Followed by London-Gatwick and London-Heathrow, each with more than 15,000 passengers. Traffic with North Africa rose by 5.3%, with increases for Morocco (+10%) and Algeria (+2.8%), which offset the downturn for Tunisia (-2.1%).

Charter traffic continued to decline (-10.7%), with 8,804 passengers.



Freight and postal traffic decreased by 12.2%, with 5,911 tonnes handled.



The number of movements increased by 4.1%, with 6,991 movements recorded. The average passenger load per flight was (106 passengers), higher than that of January 2017 (102 passengers per flight).
