Luciad’s V2016 Takes Off At World ATM Congress

Luciad will launch its version 2016 suite of software solutions during the World ATM Congress in Madrid.

The release brings Luciad’s powerful 2-D, 3-D and 4-D visualization and analysis capabilities to the web with LuciadRIA 3D, a pure HTML5, WebGL solution.

V2016 also delivers a number of visual analytics functionalities, as well as features to fuse and serve multi-spectral imagery and multi-dimensional raster data, like NetCDF weather data.

 “Luciad has been the software of choice for ATC, ATM and AIM decision makers for many years,” said Luciad Chief Commercial Officer Christoph De Preter. “With V2016, we are bringing the powerful visualization and analytics capabilities that these users rely on to the browser, opening up a world of high performance location intelligence and visual analytics tools for enterprise users at all levels.”

On Wednesday, March 9, De Preter will present during the “High Performance AIM” slot at 2:45 p.m. in the Frequentis Aviation Arena alongside Joachim Lennarz and Hannes Brunner from Frequentis.

Luciad in Action at the World ATM Congress (Stand 1163F)

In addition to the Luciad stand, visitors to this year’s event can see Luciad technology at several other stands in the exhibitor zone.

Airbus Defence and Space (Stand 805)

Airbus Defence and Space will showcase two applications built with Luciad technology, ConSA (Contrail Service for Aviation) to calculate and predict contrail forming and CAPS (Collaborative Airspace Provision Service) which maximizes airspace capacity whilst enabling flexible creation of dedicated airspaces.

Avitech (Stand 553)

Avitech will demonstrate the newest 3-D features of LuciadRIA with its 4D AIRAC cycle visualization in a browser application. The application improves the situational awareness of all stakeholders including air traffic controllers, airlines and airports through any web browser, by allowing easy access to pertinent, up-to-date aeronautical data.

EUROCONTROL (Stand 849)

The n-CONECT strategic project from the Network Manager is aiming at delivering the European ATM Information portal. NM selected the Luciad technology, (LuciadRIA) following a competitive call for tenders to integrate dynamic functionalities to manage geographical information in the portal. EUROCONTROL will showcase a browser application based on LuciadRIA to define the allocation of SSR (Secondary Surveillance Radar) codes.

R-SYS (Stand 244)

After seeing Luciad’s capabilities at the 2015 World ATM Congress, R-SYS extended their Air Traffic Control/Management systems and their AIS/ATM modules capabilities using LuciadRIA’s new 3D browser visualization and LuciadFusion Server technology. Their civilian and military aviation solutions are ICAO and EUROCONTROL compliant and scalable for projects ranging from regional airports to medium-sized area control centers.

TÜBITAK BILGEM (Stand 260)

The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey TÜBITAK BILGEM will be exhibiting and showing two applications built with Luciad software: atcTRsım – ATC Tower Control and Approach/Enroute Radar Control Simulator Project and its Aircraft Tracking System HATS.

Frequentis (Stand 526) will also demo applications built with Luciad software during this year’s ATM World Congress.
